TLC Graduate Student Teaching Award

Graduate students are our teachers of tomorrow, and TLC sponsors two different categories of awards to recognize and encourage graduate students who excel in teaching and teaching assistance with agricultural or applied economics courses. The awards review committee makes no distinction between teaching in an online, in-person, or other similar format provided the other specific requirements of either award are met.

Any member of the AAEA may submit graduate student nominations to the TLC Past-Chair in March, and selections are made based on the submitted nominating materials. Re-nominations are encouraged, provided materials are updated from previous nominations and resubmitted. The Graduate Student Teaching Awards are criterion-based awards and are reviewed by a committee of TLC members.

The successful nominees will be encouraged to attend the AAEA Annual Meetings and participate in a teaching tips track session presentation. The award includes both a certificate of achievement and a small cash award.
