Best Publication Presentation on an International Topic

Each year since 2020, the International section recognizes AAEA members doing exemplary work on international topics with one award for the best publication in the previous year at that year's annual meetings.  A call for nominations with awards criteria is issued each spring. Past winner(s) are:

Best Publication

2020: "Can insurance alter poverty dynamics and reduce the cost of social protection in developing countries?" written by: Sarah A. Janzen, Michael Carter and Munenubo Ikegami

Honourable mention: "Global food waste across the income spectrum: Implications for food prices, production and resource us," written by Emiliano Lopez Berrera and Thomas Hertel

2019: "High trade costs and their consequences: An estimated dynamic model of African agricultural storage and trade." written by: Obie Porteous
