Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

The Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award is given in recognition of development of professional excellence by persons writing doctoral dissertations in any field consistent with the AAEA Vision Statement:

The AAEA will be the leading organization for professional advancement in, and dissemination of, knowledge about agricultural, development, environmental, food and consumer, natural resource, regional, rural, and associated areas of applied economics and business.

A maximum of three awards are given each year, and a $1000 cash prize accompanies each award.

Award Nomination Materials

□  A nomination letter

  • Maximum of three single spaced pages, which should be a concise statement summarizing the reasons why the nominee is worthy of the award.

PDF version of the dissertation

  • Although a published dissertation is acceptable, a copy of the dissertation as submitted to the graduate faculty should be sent if possible.
