What is the Employment Center?
The AAEA Employment Center provides an opportunity for employers to post available positions, search the applicant listings, and schedule and conduct interviews at the 2012 AAEA Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA. Access to the Employment Center, both online and on-site is available only to those institutions who have registered. Employers who are at the meeting only to participate in the Employment Center do not have to be registered for the Annual Meeting. If you plan to participate in other meeting activities, then you must also be registered for the Annual Meeting.

Format for 2012
Employers will have access to a number of tables located in the on-site Employment Center where interviews may take place. Tables will be available on a first come first served basis for those Employers registering at the unreserved rate, while those employers who registered at the reserved rate will be provided a table exclusively reserved for their use for the duration of the 2012 Employment Center. Reserved tables are no longer available for on-site registration.

How do I Register as an Employer?
To register, please visit the registration desk in Seattle. After you have registered, you will be provided login information to access the applicant listings in the online Employment Center. On-site Employers will not have the option to post their positions in the online system. Please provide copies of the position announcement for distribution in the on-site materials.

How do I set up an Interview?
All interviews will take place in the Employment Center on-site at the Annual Meeting. If you are interested in interviewing with a registered applicant, you should contact the individual via the contact information provided in their applicant report. Please note, AAEA will not be handling the scheduling of interviews. Additionally, only applicants who are registered for the Employment Center are eligible to participate in the Employment Center on-site.

What Should I Expect at the On-site Employment Center?
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of providing internet access in the meeting space, wireless internet will not be available in the Employment Center area; however, internet kiosks will be available near the main Annual Meeting Registration booths. A limited number of binders containing printed copies of the applicant reports received in advance of the meeting will be available in the Employment Center for those interested in searching for additional candidates. Additionally, a table will be set with a number of office supplies such as pencils, paper, stapler, and 3-hole punch for your use. A bulletin board will also be available where employers may leave a message for applicants if they are not able to reach them using the contact information provided on the applicant form.

Registered Employers will receive an Orientation Information Sheet via email along with their receipt with more detailed information regarding the on-site logistics of the Employment Center.
