Abstract/Presentation Information

AAEA sent session information to speakers/presenters from the Abstract Management System which includes the scheduled date and time (subject to change). If you have not received the email yet, please be sure to check your spam/junk folder. If you are still unable to find it, please reach out to the AAEA business office at info@aaea.org.

If there have been any changes to your presentation (i.e. speaker change, title change, or would like to withdraw) please reach out to the AAEA Business Office at info@aaea.org so the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting schedule can be edited accordingly.

Presenter/Participant Requirements

In order to participate in the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting, presenters must meet three requirements by using the email address this email was sent to:

  • **May 14, 2025 by 11:59 pm CST
    1. Be a 2025 AAEA member.
    2. Register for the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting.
  • *June 18, 2025 by 11:59 pm CST
    1. Upload a finished paper and/or poster (PDF) to the AAEA Abstract Management System.
      An uploaded manuscript is required by the presenter of: Selected Presentations Papers, Posters, and Lightning; Invited Papers; Case Studies; as well as Organized Symposiums. A personalized link to upload your paper will be in the email from the Abstract Management System. Track session presentations are not required to upload a manuscript.

**If your institution will be registering you for the Annual Meeting or renewing your membership, it is your responsibility to ensure that they have done so prior to the May 14 deadline.

*Updated versions may be submitted after the June 18 deadline by emailing Danielle Becker at AgEcon by emailing becke073@umn.org.

Failure to complete requirements by May 14, 2025 as well as the June 18, 2025 deadline, will result in your paper and/or poster being withdrawn from the program. If you would like to withdraw your paper or poster, you must notify the AAEA business office of your intentions at info@aaea.org or (414) 918-3190.

All posters will be displayed Sunday through Tuesday.  Poster presentations will take place during the Poster Reception, which is scheduled for Monday, July 28 from 4:15 pm until 5:30 pm.

Funding Opportunities

Travel Grants

  • These grants defray housing and transportation costs associated with attending the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting in Denver, CO, July 27 - 29, 2025. The amount of the travel grant awarded will depend on the number of applications received. There are Travel Grants for both International and Domestic travel and the deadline to apply for either is May 23, 2025.

  • The AAEA Annual Meeting is a perennial cornerstone component of the organization. We look forward to another successful meeting July 27-29, 2025 in Denver, CO at the AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting. The typical slate of pre- and post-conference workshops, keynote addresses, concurrent sessions, reunions and much more are scheduled, and will again offer attendees numerous learning and networking opportunities. 

    Core to ongoing successful Annual Meetings is robust attendance and participation of our Members. Meanwhile, some AAEA Members have experienced significant challenges associated with lost employment in calendar year 2025. The AAEA wants to acknowledge this and invites and encourages Members who have lost employment in 2025 to log-in to the AAEA Member Account and see what support is available to partially assist in their attending this year’s Annual Meeting.
     
  • AAEA is not providing onsite childcare in Denver; however, you may apply for childcare/accessibility funds by filling out this form

AAEA invites you to register for the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting in Denver, CO July 27-29. Most meeting events will take place at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.  Registration rates are outlined below and you can register online now or download the form.

*Guest Registration: Attendees are encouraged to bring spouses, friends, and family to the Annual Meeting. All such attendees must register as guests to participate in meeting activities, at the cost of $75 per guest. Children under the age of 16 may attend the meeting for free.

Guests include any interested party not professionally or a student in the field of agricultural economics or applied economics, or a related discipline.  Colleagues and/or students cannot be registered as guests.

Guest registration must be added onto an existing member registration.

Members wishing to get involved may volunteer for an essential role as a senior-level discussant for Selected Paper Sessions at our 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting in Denver, CO, July 27-29, 2025.  A discussant will be assigned to a Selected Presentation Paper Session whose topic area correlates with the discussant’s expertise.  The discussant would be tasked with reviewing the papers within their session, provide constructive feedback and stimulate discussion.  The goal is to make these sessions more impactful and meaningful.

Qualifications and Requirements to Serve as a Senior-level Discussant

  • Tenured Associate or Full Professors.
  • Retired
  • Senior Researcher at a Government or Private Organization.

To submit an abstract for the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting in Denver, CO, your membership must be renewed for 2025, or you will be required to pay a $25.00 abstract submission fee during the submission process.

Award nominations are now open and and will remain so until February 5, 2025, at 11:59 pm Central Time.  AAEA would like to provide an opportunity to recognize those who have done outstanding work or research in their fields.  This includes teachers, role models, and even students. Winners will be announced and recognized at the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting, during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Recognition Ceremony.  More information on the AAEA Annual Awards, including how to nominate someone, can be found here.

  • To help you prepare, links to the manuscripts from the authors/presenters will be provided in mid to late June.

2024 Annual Meeting Recap

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 2024 AAEA Annual Meeting.  We hosted over 1200 attendees for the three-day event!  Your continued support is essential and appreciated.  We hope to see you next year in Denver, CO!

We would also like to thank the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers.  Not only did they review and analyze a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and create coherent sessions, but they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.

In addition, thank you to all the Section Leaders and members who helped organize the many Track Sessions and Organized Symposia.  We look forward to seeing what you’re preparing for the 2025 program.

Abstract Submissions Now Open

The abstract submissions site is open and AAEA is currently accepting abstract and session proposals.  The Joint Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field.  You may submit an abstract by clicking here, and logging into your AAEA account.  If you have any questions, links to tutorial videos have been provided.

To submit an abstract, you need to be a current AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee.  Please also take note of the important deadlines listed below.

If selected, all presentations will be in-person.  We will not have a virtual component.

Call for Proposals: Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops

The AAEA Executive Board invites proposals for Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops at the 2025 AAEA & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting.   The deadline for proposals is December 2, 2024.  Selections will be finalized at the AAEA Executive Board meeting in early January and organizers will be notified soon thereafter by the AAEA President.

Submissions will be judged on the merits of the proposal and space and time available at the Annual Meeting.  Organizers will work with the AAEA Business Office to develop a budget for final approval at the January Board meeting.  More information on submitting a proposal can be found here.
