The New Economics of Food Security and Nutrition

Agenda

8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Attendees Will Be Required to Bring Their Own Laptops

The workshops aim to unite AAEA panelists and participants to achieve three primary goals:

  1. Evaluate the current state of knowledge and its implications for policy, offering directions for future research, education, and outreach.
  2. Foster a greater understanding among applied economists of the opportunities and challenges arising from the application of proposed new nutritional measurements.
  3. Promote dialogue on food and nutritional security and obesity, while identifying potential opportunities to integrate this knowledge into joint research projects.

Relevance to AAEA Members/Meeting Attendees:
The workshop focuses on discussing and applying newly developed methods to measure and analyze the effects of agriculture and food systems on nutrition and health and the role of policy. A topic researched by many AAEA members.
