Brief Description of Topic:
We propose to hold a one-day post-conference workshop honoring and celebrating the fundamental contributions of Richard E. Just to the field of agricultural economics. In a career spanning five decades, Richard E. Just made essential contributions to Agricultural Economics that will continue to influence the field for decades. He changed how economists’ modeling of risky phenomena and made seminal contributions to welfare, adoption, technological change, and agricultural and resource policy economics. In addition to his scholarly works, he served as editor of the AJAE, president of the AAEA, and was selected as a Fellow. He also made fundamental contributions to the lives of those he worked with and mentored.

Intended AudienceThe intend the audience will be a mix of invited scholars, those who worked with Richard Just as colleagues or students, and others who are significantly interested in the history of agricultural and applied economics and the development of the field.
