Annual Meeting Starts

Employment Center

New this year, AAEA will be hosting a Job Fair on Sunday, August 5, 2018. This half-day, in-person event will take place in the Employment Center from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This is a great opportunity for employers to network informally with potential candidates. See the Job Fair site for details on how the Job Fair works and what agricultural and applied economists have to offer.

The AAEA Employment Center connects employers and applicants both electronically and in person.  Details below show the ways that both can participate and schedule interviews

Employers will have the option to either register for the job fair only, or the entire 3-day Employment Center, which takes place Sunday through Tuesday.

1-day Job Fair-only registration ($150) includes:
-One table at the Sunday job fair
-Unlimited job postings on the AAEA job board through the end of the Annual Meeting

3-day Employment Center registration ($400) includes:
-One table at the Sunday job fair
-Additional space for interviews/networking on Monday and Tuesday
-Unlimited job postings on the AAEA job board through the end of the Annual Meeting

Employers who are at the meeting only to participate in the Job Fair or Employment Center do not have to be registered for the Annual Meeting. If you plan to participate in other meeting activities, then you must also be registered for the Annual Meeting.

Applicant registration is FREE. Interested candidates should sign up for the Employment Center through the AAEA Job Board. Job seekers will be able to register for the Employment Center while on-site at the annual meeting; however, we recommend registering in advance and scheduling interviews prior to arriving in DC. Applicants must be registered for the Annual Meeting in order to participate in the Employment Center.

Scheduling Interviews
Applicants and employers are responsible for scheduling their own interviews. To make the most of your time in D.C., we strongly recommend that interviews be scheduled in advance of arriving at the meeting; however, scheduling interviews on-site is certainly allowed.
