Spring has sprung for AAEA and that means more deadlines! With less than three months until the 2018 AAEA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., awards, schedules, rooms, transportation, and much more are being finalized to ensure another excellent event.
But we can’t do it alone; the AAEA Business Office needs your help to keep on track! The end of this month holds one of the most important deadlines of the year. In order to participate as a presenter at the annual meeting, the following items must be completed by 11:59 pm CST on Wednesday, May 23, 2018:
- Be an AAEA member
- Register for the 2018 meeting
- Submit your full paper/poster to the AAEA submission site (Selected Presentations only)
Failure to complete these items on time may result in your presentation’s withdrawal from the annual meeting. If you feel that you will not meet these requirements by the deadline, please reach out to the AAEA Business Office as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org or (414) 918-3190.
Workshops & Travel Grants
An update has been made to the Pre-Conference Workshop PC12: Towards Engagement and Collaboration of 1890, 1862. The AAEA Trust is able to provide a number of travel grant stipends to graduate students and early career professionals. The deadline to apply is May 30, 2018. To apply or for more information, please visit the PC12 details on the pre and post conference workshop page.
Early Career Professional and Greduate Student (domestic and international) travel grant applications are due May 23, 2018, and additional information can be found on the travel grant page.
There are 10 pre/post conference activities to choose from this year, including a local Brewery Tour pre-conference and the Extension Section Agricultural Tour post-conference. Even if you have already registered for the meeting, it is not too late to sign up! Descriptions and pricing for these workshops are located on the pre and post conference workshop page. Hotel & Registration
AAEA has also negotiated with SuperShuttle to offer meeting attendees a 10% discount on their transportation. Shared van service one-way from Reagan National Airport (DCA) is $14.60. Employment Center & Job Fair
We invite and encourage you to register for the 2018 AAEA Annual Meeting Employment Center and Job Fair, taking place August 5-7 in Washington, D.C.
New this year, AAEA will be hosting a job fair on Sunday, August 5, 2018. This one-day event will take place in the Employment Center from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for employers to connect with potential candidates.
Employers have the option to register for the one-day job fair only, or the entire 3-day Employment Center. Those who register may post open positions on the AAEA Job Board, view resumes of applicants who are participating in the Employment Center, and they may also utilize a table in the Annual Meeting Employment Center to conduct in-person interviews with applicants.
Applicant registration is FREE.
*Please note: Applicants must be registered for the Annual Meeting in order to participate in the Employment Center and Job Fair.
