Print or Ship your Poster Straight to the Hotel

If you are presenting a poster at the Annual Meeting and would like to avoid traveling with a large poster, take advantage of the FedEx directly in the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. You can get high-quality oversize prints perfect for making a big impact at presentations. Otherwise, you can ship your posters to the hotel with confidence knowing FedEx Office is onsite, receiving, handling, and tracking your packages! Registration for Ticketed Events

There are a limited number of tickets available for the speaker series luncheons and post-conference workshops. Tickets will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets will be sold the day of the event. If you would like to register on-site for a ticketed event, simply stop by the registration desk in the lobby of the Washington Marriott Wardman Park.

The registration desk is also where you will pick up your name badge and ask any questions.

Registration Hours:

  • Sunday, August 5: 7:30 am – 7:30 pm
  • Monday, August 6: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Tuesday, August 7: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Connection Center

The AAEA Connection Center, located in the hallway before Park Tower on the Lobby Level, will be the place to connect, network, and prepare presentations. Attendees can meet up with friends or leave a message at the Connection Center Message Board. A Charging station will also be available to recharge your device(s). Reconnect, recharge, and relax!


Professional Headshot Photographer

As a benefit to everyone attending the AAEA Annual Meeting, a photographer is available for professional headshots on Sunday, August 5, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm on the Lobby Level. This is a great opportunity to have your professional picture taken! Digital Images will be available, at no cost, after the Annual Meeting.


Employment Center

The Employment Center offers a great opportunity for highly qualified candidates to connect with a number of employers during the Annual Meeting. The Employment Center features a simplified registration and posting process that is integrated into the AAEA Job Board. Applicant registration is FREE, but participants must be registered for the 2018 AAEA Annual Meeting.

Transportation

SuperShuttle is offering a 10% discount for 2018 Annual Meeting attendees to and from IAD/DCA/BWI airports for one-way and roundtrip. This offer is valid online only at www.suppershuttle.com. Simply enter code JXXYX to get started.

Washington, D.C. also offers a variety of local transportation options. In addition to taxis, Uber, and Lyft, there’s also an easy to use Metro system (bus and rail) and the DC Circulator.

The Metro system utilizes a SmarTrip card, which is a rechargeable card used to pay Metrorail and local bus system fares. Simply touch the SmarTrip card to the circular targets on top of or inside station fare gates, or you can tap the SmarTrip fare box on the Metrobus.

The DC Circulator provides public transportation to the District’s main attractions at a cost of only $1 and SmarTrip cards are also accepted. The system consists of six distinct routes across Washington, D.C., and most routes run until midnight or later. Check out their schedule here.


AAEA Business Meeting

AAEA’s Annual Business Meeting will take place on Monday, August 6 at 8:00 am in Salon 2 located on the lobby level. Be sure to review the minutes from last year’s meeting and the agenda before you arrive.
