2023 Annual Meeting Recap

A huge thank you to everyone who joined the 2023 AAEA Annual Meeting. We hosted over 1,600 attendees for the three-day event!  Your continued support is essential and appreciated. We hope to see you next year in New Orleans, LA!

We would also like to thank the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers.  Not only did they review and analyze a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and create coherent sessions, but they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.

In addition, thank you to all the Section Leaders and members who helped organize the many Track Sessions and Organized Symposia. We look forward to seeing what you’re preparing for the 2024 program.

Abstract Submissions Now Open

The abstract submissions site is open and AAEA is currently accepting abstract and session proposals.  The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field.  Once you are ready to submit, please visit the submissions website.

To submit an abstract, you need to be a current 2024 AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee. Please also take note of the important deadlines listed below.

If selected, all presentations will be in-person. We will not have a virtual component.

Call for Proposals: Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops

The AAEA Executive Board invites proposals for Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops at the 2024 Annual Meeting.   The deadline for proposals is November 30, 2023.  Selections will be finalized at the AAEA Executive Board meeting in early January and organizers will be notified soon thereafter by the AAEA President.

Submissions will be judged on the merits of the proposal and space and time available at the Annual Meeting.  Organizers will work with the AAEA Business Office to develop a budget for final approval at the January Board meeting. More information on submitting a proposal can be found here.

AAEA Annual Award Nominations

We will begin accepting nominations for AAEA Annual Awards soon and will continue to accept them until February 4, 2024.  AAEA would like to provide an opportunity to recognize those who have done outstanding work or research in their fields.  This includes teachers, role models, and even students.  Winners will be announced and recognized at the 2024 AAEA Annual Meeting, during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Recognition Ceremony.  More information on the AAEA Annual Awards can be found here.
