We would also like to thank the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers. Not only did they review and analyze a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and create coherent sessions, they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.
In addition, thank you to all of the Section Leaders and members who helped organize the many successful Track Sessions and Organized Symposia. We look forward to seeing what you prepare for the 2021 program.
Major plans for the 2021 AAEA Annual Meeting in Austin, TX are already in the works. The meeting will take place August 1-3, at the JW Marriott Austin. We are hopeful to have an in-person meeting but continue to monitor the health organizations’ recommendations and guidelines around COVID-19. As details regarding an in-person, hybrid, or virtual meeting are decided by the AAEA Board, we will update everyone via email and on the AM21 website.
The JW Marriott Austin is located in the heart of downtown Austin and brings luxury comforts with sophisticated amenities. The JW Marriott Austin is within walking distance of over 200 uniquely Austin shops, restaurants, and nightlife venues. Be sure to bring your appetite when you come to Austin, as you will see there is a lot to sip, sample and savor. Food Trucks are a must-see when you visit Austin; take a look at the 25 Can’t Miss Food Trucks.
Take an extra day to explore the attractions like Bob Bullock State Museum, Downtown Business District, Lake Travis, or Paramount Theatre. For the kid in all of us, check out the Austin Zoo, or take flight to the Peter Pan Mini Golf. Don’t forget to hop on over to 2nd Street District, to find local retail, and entertainment with world-renowned live music in the downtown gem.
We encourage all attendees to book a hotel room at the JW Marriott Austin under the AAEA room block. Single and Double room rates start at $199.00 per night. The room block is open to book reservations and you have the ability to cancel within 72 hours of arrival without penalty, should plans change. AAEA guests receive complimentary in-room internet. The abstract submission site is open and AAEA is currently accepting abstract and session proposals. The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field. The 2021 Open Calls webpage contains important criteria and submission information. Once you are ready to submit, please visit the abstract submission website.
In order to submit an abstract you need to be a current AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee. Please also take note of the important deadlines listed below.
