AAEA’s Annual Business Meeting will be held during the annual meeting in Kansas City, MO on Monday, July 27 at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
This meeting gives members the chance to hear about the state of the association. Updates will be given by the AAEA President, the Finance Committee, and the AAEA Trust Committee. Additionally, Board members and Editors who are completing their terms will be recognized for their service. Lastly, those in attendance will be given an opportunity to voice any questions or concerns that they may have.
AAEA has a number of standing committees. The committees fall into two different types-committees with a narrowly defined charge and those with a broadly defined charge.
Committees with a narrow charge have a specific set of activities that they are responsible for each year while those with a broadly defined charge undertake activities that vary from year to year. The AAEA Board has made it a priority to ensure that the limited time and resources that are being provided by volunteers are used effectively. Each year, the AAEA Board will evaluate the needs of the organization and provide specific charges to the committees that have a broadly defined charge. This approach aims to ensure that the committee is serving its purpose and to ensure volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the work of the Association.
AAEA has 3 professional journals published through Wiley: Journal of the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (JAAEA); American Journal of Agricultural Economics (AJAE); and Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy (AEPP).
AAEA also has 2 publications published in-house: Choices and Applied Economic Teaching Resources (AETR)
AAEA Sections are subgroups of AAEA formed by members with common interests or focuses. Sections promote networking through activities such as, email discussion listervs, pre- and post-conference workshops and track sessions at the Annual Meeting.
