We would also like to thank the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers. Not only did they review and analyze a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and create coherent sessions, they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.
In addition, thank you to all of the Section Leaders and members who helped organize the many successful Track Sessions and Organized Symposia. We look forward to seeing what you’re preparing for the 2022 program.
Major plans for the 2022 AAEA Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA are already in the works. The meeting will take place July 31-August 2, 2022, at the Marriott Anaheim. We are hopeful to have an in-person meeting but continue to monitor the health organizations’ recommendations and guidelines around COVID-19. As details regarding an in-person, hybrid, or virtual meeting are decided by the AAEA Board in January 2022, we will update everyone via email and on the AM22 website.
The Marriott Anaheim offers a prime location that is within walking distance to Anaheim Convention Center, museums, Southern California’s beaches, and Disneyland Resort. The Marriott Anaheim has fun family attractions just a short drive away; including the Discovery Science Center, Santa Ana Zoo, and Knott's Berry Farm. If you are looking for a little history, take a peek at Anaheim Packing District, where you will find it is a collection of historic projects classified as one of the last remaining citrus packing warehouses in Orange County, which has been historically preserved.
Don’t forget to take time to yourself at the poolside dining at the outdoor pool and whirlpool or beautiful Orange County Beaches. Indulge in Fresh California cuisine, local ingredients, and an extensive bourbon collection located in the hotel. A short visit to Downtown Anaheim you can laugh, shop, work, and enjoy some surf n turf.
We encourage all attendees to book a hotel room at the Marriott Anaheim under the AAEA room block. Single and Double room rates start at $225.00 per night. The room block is open to book reservations and you have the ability to cancel within 72 hours of arrival without penalty, should plans change. AAEA guests receive complimentary in-room internet. The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field. The 2022 Open Calls webpage contains important criteria and submission information. Once you are ready to submit, please visit the submission website.
In order to submit an abstract you need to be a current AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee. Please also take note of the important deadlines listed below.
Nominations for the 2022 Annual Awards are being accepted now through February 9, 2022. AAEA would like to provide an opportunity to recognize those who have done outstanding work or research in their fields. This includes teachers, role models, and even students. Winners will get announced and recognized at the 2022 AAEA Annual Meeting, during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Recognition Ceremony.
