Advanced Registration Closes Monday, July 20!
AAEA invites you to register for the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO July 26-28. Most meetings will take place at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown with Pre- and Post-conference Workshops taking place on Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday July 29. Registration rates are outlined below and you can register online now or download the form. After July 20, you will need to register on-site in Kansas City.

2026 AAEA Business Meeting

AAEA’s Annual Business Meeting will be held during the annual meeting in Kansas City, MO on Monday, July 27 in the Imperial Ballroom at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
This meeting gives members the chance to hear about the state of the association. Updates will be given by the AAEA President, the Finance Committee, and the AAEA Trust Committee. Additionally, Board members and Editors who are completing their terms will be recognized for their service. Lastly, those in attendance will be given an opportunity to voice any questions or concerns that they may have.
We hope you’ll join us in KC!

The goal of this one-day workshop is to understand better the circular bioeconomy and its effects on the economy and the environment, engage with economists and engineers, and gain a new perspective. The participants will use the insights developed in this workshop to identify research gaps, challenges, and opportunities.
PC16 Structural Transformation, Trade Integration, and Sustainability in East and Southeast Asian Agriculture: New Evidence, Methods, and Policy Implications

This post-conference workshop seeks to provide a structured forum for academic and policy engagement on these issues, fostering dialogue between economists, policymakers, and practitioners. The event directly contributes to AAEA’s mission by encouraging rigorous research dissemination, interdisciplinary exchange, and professional development. The workshop aims to: 1. Examine empirical evidence and theoretical insights on the changing determinants of comparative advantage; 2. Discuss implications for U.S. trade competitiveness and domestic agricultural policy; 3. Facilitate collaboration among researchers across sections and career stages; and 3. Develop actionable insights to inform future policy, research, and outreach.

PC51 Extension Section Agricultural Tour and Educational Session

Depart Marriott 8:00 am, return to Marriott by 12:00 pm
Tour and post-conference workshop at American Royal. Conference attendees will tour American Royal, which is a quick 5-minute drive from the conference hotel, followed by a short break with refreshments and an education session hearing about the history of American Royal and their vision of a world where food and agriculture are celebrated and all generations are committed to its future. Attendees will also hear about their future campus that is under construction and projected to annually attract one million visitors and host more than 200 livestock events, rodeos and exhibitions.
PC53 Bridging Research and Application: Emerging Developments in Agricultural Science, Data, and Finance

The workshop will bring together academics and practitioners to discuss innovations in both the demand and supply sides of food supply chains. We will organize these discussions around three panels. The first panel will discuss the economic implications of recent advancements in technologies related to food consumption. The second panel will explore innovation in farm and food production and distribution. The third panel will examine trends in financing investments in agriculture and food production.

Speaker: Dr. Andrew Dabalen, Chief Economist for the Africa Region, World Bank
The Africa Section is honored to welcome Dr. Dabalen as the luncheon speaker at the AAEA Annual Meeting. His remarks will offer valuable insights into African development, poverty reduction, and growth, as well as the role of research in shaping effective policy.

The AAEA Employment Services (formerly known as Employment Center) connects employers and applicants both electronically and in person. Details below show the ways that both can participate and make the most of their time at the Employment Services.

Employers may register for the Employment Services, which takes place on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Employment Services registration (FREE) includes:
- One table at the on-site Employment Services
- Unlimited job postings on the AAEA job board through the end of the Annual Meeting
Employers who are at the meeting only to participate in the Employment Services do not have to be registered for the Annual Meeting. If you plan to participate in other meeting activities, then you must also be registered for the Annual Meeting.

Applicants
Applicant registration is FREE. Interested candidates should sign up for the Employment Services through the AAEA Job Board. Job seekers will be able to register for the Employment Services while on-site at the annual meeting; however, we recommend registering in advance and scheduling interviews prior to arriving in Kansas City, MO. Applicants must be registered for the Annual Meeting in order to participate in the Employment Services.

Childcare
AAEA is not providing onsite childcare in Kansas City; however, you may apply for childcare/accessibility funds by filling out this form. The deadline to apply is July 17 or when the maximum number of applications has ben reached, whichever comes first.
AAEA is providing a room for nursing mothers at the Conference Hotel. Please stop at the AAEA Registration Desk for access and location. It is available during AAEA registration hours.
AAEA Virtual Track Sessions
We invite you to join us for our 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting Virtual Track Sessions. Each of these sessions will take place over zoom, either before or after the Annual Meeting dates. As a reminder, AAEA will never request that you send money or buy anything from us, aside from membership dues, section dues, Annual Meeting Registration etc. Please keep an eye out for any fake emails that might appear to have come from AAEA, AAEA Board members, or AAEA members.
Please use the below tips to help decipher a legitimate email from AAEA:
- Hover over the “From” field in the email and confirm it was sent from info@aaea.org, one of our 6 staff members (see below), or any of our Board
- If your email accepts HTML formatted emails from the info@aaea.org, there will be a formal letterhead image as well as a signature that features the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting logo.
- When in doubt, email info@aaea.org or anyone in the business office directly for confirmation of any email or communication you may have received.
AEEE Call for Papers: Applied Economics Insights
Applied Economics Education and Extension (AEEE) is calling for manuscripts for its new Applied Economics Insights section of the journal. Applied Economic Insights articles cover national and international applied economics issues related to extension, outreach, industry, education and teaching. These are authoritative, nontechnical analyses, overviews, and reviews of emerging and highly relevant topics for stakeholders, educators, policymakers, and the general public. Applied Economic Insights article build on the legacy of Choices. We will promote Insights articles through our subscriber list (built upon the one that previously served Choices), social media and other outreach outlets.
