AAEA invites you to register for the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO July 26-28. Most meetings will take place at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown with Pre- and Post-conference Workshops taking place on Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday July 29. Registration rates are outlined below and you can register online now or download the form.

*Guest Registration: Attendees are encouraged to bring spouses, friends, and family to the Annual Meeting. All such attendees must register as guests to participate in meeting activities, at the cost of $75 per guest. Children under the age of 16 may attend the meeting for free.

Guests include any interested party not professionally or a student in the field of agricultural economics or applied economics, or a related discipline.  Colleagues and/or students cannot be registered as guests.

Guest registration must be added onto an existing member registration.

Registered guests will receive a name badge and are invited to attend the Welcome Reception at no additional charge.

Cancellation: Cancellations of meeting registrations are subject to a $50 processing fee. After July 3, no refunds will be given for meeting registrations or special event tickets. To cancel your Annual Meeting registration and/or special event tickets, contact the AAEA Business Office at (414) 918-3190 or info@aaea.org. Website: www.aaea.org. If AAEA cancels the meeting any paid meeting registration fees will be fully refunded.

Kansas City Marriott Downtown puts business and leisure travelers in the heart of a lively downtown. Guests are a quick walk from the Power & Light District that offers shopping, great restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting Ticketed Events Preview

The cost to attend a ticketed event (i.e. Pre-/Post-conference Workshop or Luncheon) is not included in the Annual Meeting Registration cost. Pre-registration to participate in any ticketed event is required before the Annual Meeting. Travel Grants

Domestic and International travel grants are available for Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals who will present an accepted paper or poster at the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting. Note: those who submitted an abstract will be notified of the status around March 20.

The grants can help defray housing and transportation costs associated with attending the Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO, July 26 - 28, 2026. The amount of the travel grant awarded will depend on the number of applications received. There are Travel Grants for both International and Domestic travel and the deadline to apply for either is May 22, 2026.

Call for Volunteers: Senior Discussant for Selected Presentations - Paper Sessions

Members wishing to get involved may volunteer for an essential role as a senior-level discussant for Selected Paper Sessions at our 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO.  A discussant will be assigned to a Selected Presentation Paper Session whose topic area correlates with the discussant’s expertise.  The discussant would be tasked with reviewing the papers within their session, provide constructive feedback and stimulate discussion.  The goal is to make these sessions more impactful and meaningful. Employment Services

The AAEA Employment Services (formerly known as Employment Center) connects employers and applicants both electronically and in person. Details below show the ways that both can participate and make the most of their time at the Employment Services.

Employers
Employers may register for the Employment Services, which takes place on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Employment Services registration (FREE) includes:

  • One table at the on-site Employment Services
  • Unlimited job postings on the AAEA job board through the end of the Annual Meeting

Employers who are at the meeting only to participate in the Employment Services do not have to be registered for the Annual Meeting. If you plan to participate in other meeting activities, then you must also be registered for the Annual Meeting.

Applicants
Applicant registration is FREE. Interested candidates should sign up for the Employment Services through the AAEA Job Board. Job seekers will be able to register for the Employment Services while on-site at the annual meeting; however, we recommend registering in advance and scheduling interviews prior to arriving in Kansas City, MO. Applicants must be registered for the Annual Meeting in order to participate in the Employment Services.

Scheduling Interviews
Applicants and employers are responsible for scheduling their own interviews. To make the most of your time in Kansas City, MO we strongly recommend that interviews be scheduled in advance of arriving at the meeting; however, scheduling interviews on-site is certainly allowed.
