Not only did they review and analyze a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and create coherent sessions, but they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.

Major plans for the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO are already in the works. The meeting will take place July 26-28, 2026, at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Pre- and post-conference workshops take place on Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday July 29.

Kansas City Marriott Downtown puts business and leisure travelers in the heart of a lively downtown. Guests are a quick walk from the Power & Light District that offers shopping, great restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. All rooms have a work desk, coffee and tea making facilities, and granite bathrooms. Room service is available. The abstract submission site is open and AAEA is currently accepting abstract and session proposals. The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field. You may submit an abstract for Selected Presentations by clicking here, and logging into your AAEA account. If you are submitting a session (Organized Symposium, Invited Paper, Track Session, or Case Study) you may submit here. If you have any questions, links to tutorial videos have been provided.
To submit an abstract, you need to be a current AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee. Please also take note of the important deadlines listed below.
If selected, all presentations will be in-person. The meeting will not have a virtual component.
The AAEA Executive Board invites proposals for Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops at the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting. The deadline for proposals is January 14, 2026. Selections will be finalized by the AAEA Executive Board and organizers will be notified thereafter by the AAEA President in early February.
Submissions will be judged on the merits of the proposal, along with available meeting space and time of workshop at the Annual Meeting. Organizers will work with the AAEA Business Office to develop a budget. More information on submitting a proposal can be found here.
AAEA members are invited to submit nominations for the AAEA Annual Awards. The nomination site will be open until February 4, 2026, at 11:59 pm Central Time. You can submit a nomination here. AAEA would like to provide an opportunity to recognize those who have done outstanding work or research in their fields. This includes teachers, role models, and even students. Winners will be announced and recognized at the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting, during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Recognition Ceremony. More information on the AAEA Annual Awards can be found here.
