Brief Description of Topic:
The workshop will bring together academics and practitioners to discuss innovations in both the demand and supply sides of food supply chains. We will organize these discussions around three panels. The first panel will discuss the economic implications of recent advancements in technologies related to food consumption. The second panel will explore innovation in farm and food production and distribution. The third panel will examine trends in financing investments in agriculture and food production.
Benefits to participants and the profession:
By bringing together private sector leaders and academic researchers, our goal is to deliver three key benefits to the profession. First, we seek to shape the conversation on key food and agriculture issues through collaborative dialogue between academia and industry. Second, we hope to broaden participants’ views through a joint and open discussion of pressing topics. Third, we hope to benefit participating institutions involved in analyzing these issues by promoting collaboration, supporting projects, and deepening the network of professionals tackling food and agricultural challenges.
