Call for Abstracts: Crop Insurance and the Farm Bill Symposium

The AAEA and the AAEA Extension Section are organizing a two-day symposium titled: "Crop Insurance and the Farm Bill: A New Paradigm in U.S. Agricultural Policy Symposium" on October 8-9, 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky.

We are currently seeking submissions for Selected Presentations. Submissions for Selected Presentations need to include a two-page, single-spaced abstract that provides a clear explanation of what will be presented at the Symposium. Vision

The vision of the Extension Section is to lead in the professional development of extension and other applied economists with major outreach and/or industry responsibilities.

Mission

The Extension Section mission is to provide opportunities for professional growth and program enhancement for extension economists and other applied economists with major outreach and/or industry responsibilities in both the public and private sectors. It will promote excellence, facilitate continuous professional development, and recognize the significant professional contributions of its members.

Objectives

  1. Provide a forum for discussion of issues important to extension and other applied economists with major outreach and/or industry responsibilities.
  2. Provide opportunities for professional development of extension and other applied economists with major outreach and/or industry responsibilities.
  3. Provide opportunities to enrich extension, outreach and/or industry programs through program sharing and program development.
  4. Recognize the intellectual contributions of Extension Section eligible economists to society and the profession.
  5. Enhance the effectiveness of extension economists and other applied economists with major outreach and/or industry economists’ participation in the American Agricultural Economics Association and enhance synergy with research/teaching economists.
  6. Increase membership and participation of extension and other applied economists with major public outreach and/or industry responsibilities in the AAEA.
