Agribusiness Economics and Management Section (AEM)

The AEM Section provides a place for all AAEA members working or interested in agribusiness economics and management to share work, to learn, and to advance the field. We urge those with interest in management and the agribusiness sector to become a section member and to contact the executive committee to express your interests and program ideas.

Call for Papers: IFAMR Special Issue

Dear AEM Section members and friends,

We are happy to announce that the AEM Section has partnered with the International Food and Agribusiness Management Review (IFAMR) to offer a special opportunity to AEM researchers presenting at the 2013 AAEA & CAES Joint Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. We are preparing a special issue of IFAMR to highlight the research that will be presented at the meetings.

This will not be your typical proceedings. The AEM executive team believed strongly that the most valuable opportunity we could create for our members, particularly younger professionals, would be to have a peer-reviewed special issue. All papers will go undergo review consistent with IFAMR’s guidelines. However, we are offering an expedited process that is designed to improve the quality of presentations at the AAEA meetings as well as to reach publication by the end of 2013.

Whether your paper or presentation is part of an AEM Track Session or whether it is selected for presentation as a paper or a poster, you are invited to submit a completed paper based on your research.  Papers must follow IFAMR’s contributor guidelines. Please see the Call for Papers for details.

If you intend to submit a paper, please send (email) a Letter of Intent so we can gauge the number of potential papers that will be received. This will help for planning the review process.

I hope you will take advantage of this new opportunity as the AEM Section seeks new ways to create more value and opportunities for our members.

Sincerely,

Michael Sykuta
Guest-editor & AEM Section Past-President
