AAEA Student Video Competition Call for Submissions

The AAEA membership committee invites submissions to the 2012 AAEA Student Video Competition. In the format of a short 2-3 minute video, we'd like to find out from students in the fields of agricultural or applied economics what they consider the most important benefits of joining AAEA.

The contest is free and carries a first prize of $300. All qualifying videos—YouTube only—will be featured on AAEA’s YouTube channel, with the winning video being played during the AAEA Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA, August 12-14. The winning video creators will receive recognition during either the Undergraduate or Graduate Student Business Meeting, depending on the degree they’re pursuing. The winning video will be chosen by members of the AAEA Membership Committee.

Video Contest Rules:

  • Video creators must be current Undergraduate or Graduate Students in an agricultural or applied economics degree program.
  • The YouTube video must be original material between 2 and 3 minutes long and not submitted previously for any event or contest. The content must not infringe on any person’s third party rights.
  • Each submission must include a completed, signed Release Form for all persons recorded. All signed Release Forms and the YouTube video URL must be received by the AAEA Business Office no later than 5:00 PM EST, May 31, 2012. Contest entries may be faxed to (414) 276-3349 or emailed to Brian@aaea.org.
  • All submitted materials become the property of the AAEA.
  • The AAEA reserves the right to disqualify any videos that contain advertisements or contain any unlawful, misleading, malicious, discriminatory, sexually explicit or other objectionable content.

The deadline for submitting is May 31, 2012. If you have any questions, please contact Brian Mondragón Jones at Brian@aaea.org.
