December 10-11, 2008
The Sixth Annual One Medicine Symposium will take place at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, NC on December 10-11, 2008. This year's theme is "Earth, Wind, and Fire: A One Medicine Approach to Climate Change". The agenda includes a session on the economic changes in agriculture due to climate change. The conference also includes a poster session to present research, activities, and programs related to the symposium's objectives.

Other professionals attending the conference include physicians, nurses, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, public health professionals, agriculture professionals, wildlife professionals, environmental professionals, and federal, military, state and local disaster responders. Continuing education credits will be provided for various professionals.

February 16-20, 2009
• The 3rd International European Forum on System Dynamics and Innovation in Food Networks will be organized in Innsbruck-Igls, Austria from February 16 - 20, 2009. It is endorsed as a seminar of the EAAE (European Association of Agricultural Economists); endorsed by the IAMA (International Agribusiness Management Association) and endorsed by the AIEA2 (Association Internationale d'Economie Agroalimentaire).

It is the objective of this Forum to provide an interdisciplinary and creative discussion environment with the aim of new ideas for innovative and multidisciplinary research in the food sector. Its focus is on the analysis of the food system dynamics and interdependencies; the identification of drivers for sustainable system dynamics in the decision sphere of the system actors (e.g. chain management); and on the identification and promotion of potential system innovations.

Friday, February 20 will be reserved for "Science meets the World of Regulators" with the participation of high level representatives of FAO, EFSA, the European Commission and others after last forum's successful "Science meets Industry" day where high level representatives from Nestlé, Unilever, BASF and the sugar industry have presented and discussed current cases.

April 20-21, 2009
• The 2009 NCCC-134 Conference on Commodity Price Analysis, Forecasting, and Market Risk Management will be held April 20-21, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel St. Louis - Downtown. Researchers working in the broad areas of applied price analysis, commodity price forecasting, risk management, futures and options markets, and related areas are encouraged to submit proposals. Proposals related to work in progress with expected completion by April 2009 are encouraged. The deadline for proposal submissions is October 1, 2008.
