How to Submit a Proposal for Foundation Funding

The AAEA Foundation Endowment Committee seeks proposals which support the program priorities:

  1. professional development of AAEA members
  2. graduate student programs
  3. international outreach
  4. industry involvement

The Foundation Endowment Committee seeks proposals that enhance the annual meetings, broaden participation in the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association, reach out to new groups, and/or broaden the horizons of the current membership. Proposals from AAEA standing committees are encouraged. It should be noted that the Foundation does not fund individual research projects, nor does it fund activities that have already taken place.

Proposal submissions should include:

  1. A cover sheet with name of applicant, applicant’s address, e-mail and phone number, title of the project, abstract of the project, timing, duration and location of the project, amount of funding requested.

  2. A project description, not to exceed five double-spaced pages, including the purpose, scope, implementation procedures, and the individual(s) responsible for management of the project, date/timing of the project/activity, and location of the project/activity.

  3. An itemized budget, indicating costs to be borne by the Foundation, and costs, if any, covered by other sources. The AAEA office may be a resource for budget information.

Final proposals should be submitted by Friday, October 5, 2007, to ensure consideration for next year. Proposals will be reviewed by the Foundation Endowment Committee, who will make recommendations to the Executive Board for action at the January 2008 AAEA Board Meeting. If you have any questions, please call (414) 918-3190. Submit proposals by October 5, 2007, to:foundation@aaea.org
