Richard
M. Adams received his Ph.D. in 1975 from the University of California
at Davis. From 1975 to 1983, Rich was a member of the faculty
at the University of Wyoming where he attained the ranks of Assistant
and Associate Professor. In 1983, Dr. Adams joined the faculty
at Oregon State University and is currently Professor of Natural
Resource and Environmental Economics. During his career Dr. Adams
has made important contributions to economic theory and policies
concerning air pollution, global climate change, water resources,
energy, recreational hunting and fishing, and the value of long
range climate forecasts. His research findings have been published
in over 125 refereed outlets and have appeared in the profession's
most prestigious journals. Dr. Adams has served as editor of the
AJAE and has served on the editorial boards of several other journals.
Dr. Adams is also a member of the National Science Foundation.
At Oregon State, Dr. Adams teaches a graduate course in environmental
economics and a course on environmental and resource economics
for advanced undergraduates and graduate students with limited
