Joint Annual Meeting Registration Rates to Increase in Two Weeks
If you have not registered for the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting yet, please try to do so by June 23. After that date, the registration rates will increase by as much as $75.
Here’s a breakdown of the new registration rates after June 23:
- Professional Member: $425 (from $350)
- Senior Member: $325 (from $250)
- Graduate Student Member: $130 (from $95)
Registration for the Joint Annual Meeting grants you access to all concurrent sessions and plenary sessions, plus the Welcome Reception on Sunday night and the new Closing Reception on Tuesday evening. All Joint Annual Meeting Activities to be Held under One Roof
The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel will be the single location for all 2010 Joint Annual Meeting activities. As a Joint Annual Meeting attendee, you’ll be able to stay at the Sheraton at a reduced rate. Please be sure to reserve your room at the Sheraton by June 30. After that date, the reduced rates cannot be guaranteed.
Joint Annual Meeting attendees will receive discounted rates on single to quadruple occupancy rooms, plus suites. Room rates start at $159 per night. You can reserve a room at the Sheraton through their Joint Annual Meeting Reservation page. Connect with the Editors of AEPP in Denver
Are you interested in learning more about AAEA’s newest journal, AEPP? AAEA is offering a special session about the journal in Denver, titled "Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy: Lessons Learned in the First Year and a Forecast for the Future". Taking place on Sunday afternoon, this session will present an update and review of AEPP’s debut year and is designed for those interested in publishing their research in AAEA’s newest journal.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear from the journal’s editors and some of its contributors, including Chris Barrett who will be discussing his featured article "Power and Pitfalls of Experiments in Development Economics: Some Non-random Reflections". This session will take place on Sunday, July 25, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Information on this and other sessions to be presented in Denver is available on the Meeting Events page.
AAEA Employment Center Helps Registrants Connect with Employers
AAEA’s Employment Center at the Joint Annual Meeting is designed to help those looking for a new job, whether they've just graduated or are looking for something new. For $25, applicants gain access to available positions and will have the opportunity to meet with employers on site in Denver.
Registered applicants gain access to the online Employment Center, where they can browse the positions available with the registered employers and upload their own resume. Once in Denver, applicants and employers can hold interviews in the on-site Employment Center. For more information, including how to register, visit the online Employment Center.

Closing Reception to Follow Galbraith Forum on Tuesday Evening
In honor of its Centennial, AAEA is hosting a special Closing Reception in Denver. The reception will be held on Tuesday evening, immediately following the Galbraith Forum and will give you a chance to connect with friends one more time before the end of the meeting. You’ll also be able to grab a slice of birthday cake for AAEA!
The Closing Reception will officially close the Joint Annual Meeting and will take place on Tuesday, July 27, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. The reception will be preceded by the Galbraith Forum, which will include featured speaker John A. List discussing "Using Field Experiments in Agricultural and Environmental Economics". Both the Closing Reception and Galbraith Forum are free for Joint Annual Meeting attendees.
