AAEA Returns to Denver in 2010

The 2010 Joint Annual Meeting will be a return to Denver for AAEA, who was last in Denver in 2004. The 2010 meeting will be held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown (formerly the Adam’s Mark), the same venue as the 2004 meeting. Denver is one of the top destination locations in the country, with plenty for visitors to do inside and outside the city.

The Sheraton is located on the 16th street mall, a mile long pedestrian mall that serves as downtown Denver’s central location for shopping, dining, and entertainment, which also features free Wi-Fi internet access. Outside the city, you have the chance to explore Denver’s beautiful natural surroundings and try hiking, rafting, biking, and more. You can learn more about things to do while in Denver at www.denver.org.

AAEA Centennial

AAEA Celebrates Its Centennial in 2010

AAEA will be turning 100 in 2010, and as part of the year-long celebration, AAEA is planning to include some unique features to make the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting extra special.

These new features include an enhanced welcome reception, timeline panels outlining the history of agricultural and applied economics, historical displays from AAEA partners, and more.

For the centennial, AAEA will also be publishing a book written by Paul Barkley, and producing a short film, both on the history of the association. Both of these items will be made available for all AAEA members and meeting attendees. Other special centennial activities include a special issue of AJAE to be published in the spring of 2010, and special sessions at the Joint Annual Meeting.
