2010 Meeting to Feature New Schedule and More Opportunities

AAEA is continually searching for ways to improve the Joint Annual Meeting each year to better suit the needs of our attendees. This year is no exception. The 2010 Joint Annual Meeting will feature a new schedule, more opportunities for presentation, an enhanced welcome reception, and a special closing reception on Tuesday.

In order to allow more of our members the opportunity to present at the meeting, we have added a new set of concurrent sessions to the meeting schedule, to be held on Tuesday morning. Other features of the new schedule include moving the Fellows lecture to midday on Tuesday, moving the AAEA Business Meeting to Monday morning, and having the Galbraith lecture be held after the concurrent sessions on Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to these changes, in honor of AAEA’s centennial the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting will also feature an expanded welcome reception that will feature live music and other special highlights, as well as a special closing reception to be held Tuesday evening. More details on the exciting additions will be available online soon.

AAEA Centennial

Centennial Issue of AJAE to be Published; Papers to be Presented in Denver

In 2010, the second issue of AJAE will feature special commissioned papers focused on the theme of AAEA’s centennial. In addition to being included in the journal, these papers will be presented in Denver as well.

This issue of AJAE, to be published in February, will feature a variety of papers that will highlight contributions of AAEA members to the profession over the past 100 years. Some of the papers featured in this issue have each been paired with an AAEA Section, which will include the paper as part of a special Track Session at the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting. Each section will cover the material from AJAE in one of their Track Sessions, and the presentations will be made in a variety of formats. Be sure to check out the special issue of AJAE in February, and keep an eye out for the corresponding Track Sessions in Denver.
