INFORMATION
What
is the AAEA Employment Center?
The AAEA Employment Center is a unique opportunity for job candidates
and employers to conduct interviews while already conveniently on-site
for the AAEA annual meeting. This service has been invaluable through
the years for both candidates and employers.
How
Does the Employment Center Work?
Candidates who register for the Employment Center
must also register for the AAEA Annual Meeting. In or before late June, we
will make information about the job vacancies available to registered
job candidates. You are then free to contact employers that you
are interested in talking with in Long Beach and schedule interview
times. In the meantime, registered employers are looking at your
information and are able to contact you to schedule an interview.
Once you arrive on-site, you will check in at the Employment Center.
All of your interviews will be conducted at the Employment Center.
Once on-site, information will be available in the Employment Center
via paper. There will be no computers provided in the Employment
Center. The information, however, will be left up on the Internet,
so if you have your own computer on-site and have Internet access,
you will be able to continue to access the information electronically.
Scheduling on-site will be done on a Bulletin Board.
How
Much Does it Cost?
The cost for participating is a non-refundable nominal $20 if you
register before June 16 and $25 if you register after June 16. The
AAEA Employment Center draws over 150 job candidates each year.
Why? Because the AAEA Employment Center has a reputation for helping
job candidates find
what they are looking for!
When
and Where is the Employment Center?
This
year’s Employment Center will be at the AAEA Annual Meeting, July
23-26, 2006 in Long Beach, California. The Center opens on Sunday,
July 23, 1 pm and stays open until 6 pm. It is open during the day
on Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 6 pm. The Employment Center will
close on Wednesday, July 26 at 11 am. You
may schedule as many interviews as you would like while the Center
is open. There will be a short orientation session at noon on Sunday,
July 23.
Do
I Need to be Registered for the AAEA Annual Meeting in Order to
Participate in the Employment Center?
Good question. All job candidates who wish to participate in the
AAEA Employment Center must also be registered for the AAEA Annual
Meeting.
How
Do I Sign Up for the AAEA Employment Center?
Pre-registration for the Employment Center is no longer available. If you would like to register for the Employment Center, please visit the AAEA Registration Desk in 104 Foyer at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
