Employment Center
The AAEA Employment Center is the perfect opportunity for employers and job seekers to connect at the AAEA Annual Meeting. The Employment Center allows employers and job seekers to conduct interviews on-site. Applicants at the Employment Center are at the masters and Ph.D. level or individuals who are already in the workforce. Employers include universities, government agencies and industry employers who are looking for quality candidates in the agricultural economics field and related disciplines (resource, environmental, agricultural, marketing, agribusiness, consumer, and regional economics).
The Center opens on Sunday, July 23, 1 pm and stays open until 6 pm. It is open during the day on Monday and Tuesday, July 24 and 25 from 8 am until 6 pm. The Employment Center will close on Wednesday, July 26 at 11 am. A brief orientation to the Employment Center for applicants and employers will be Sunday, July 23 at Noon.
Many employers return to the AAEA Annual Meeting Employment Center year after year. Why? There is no more cost-effective way to interview a group of highly qualified candidates in the agricultural and applied economics field. Students and new professionals who can immediately put their knowledge to work on behalf of the employer. At the same time, the AAEA Employment Center has a great reputation for helping job candidates find what they are looking for!
UNDERGRADUATE RECRUITMENT FAIR
Meet your future employees and scholars at the Undergraduate Recruitment Fair! Over 100 cream-of-the-crop undergraduate students will gather at the AAEA Annual Meeting July 23-26 in Long Beach, California to participate in the Academic Bowl competition. These students are trained to apply economic principles to real world problems. Employers and departments are welcome to set up tables in the Academic Bowl area and talk with students as they wait for their turn to compete. The Undergraduate Recruitment Fair, sponsored by the Committee on Women in Agricultural Economics (CWAE) will be held on Monday, July 24, from 9 am to 3 pm. The cost is $100 for academic employers and $150 for non-academic employers. This is a great opportunity to meet bright, motivated undergraduate students who may be a perfect fit for your organization.
