Employment Center

On-line registration for the Employment Center is now closed. You must register on-site in order to participate.

The AAEA Employment Center is the perfect opportunity for employers and job seekers to connect at the AAEA Annual Meeting. The Employment Center allows employers and job seekers to conduct interviews on-site. Applicants at the Employment Center are at the masters and Ph.D. level or individuals who are already in the workforce. Employers include universities, government agencies and industry employers who are looking for quality candidates in the agricultural economics field.

This year’s Employment Center will be at the AAEA Annual Meeting, July 24-27, 2005, in Providence, Rhode Island. The Center opens on Sunday, July 24, 1 pm and stays open until 6 pm. It is open during the day on Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 6 pm. The Employment Center will be open on Wednesday, July 27 from 8 to 11 am.

A brief orientation to the Employment Center for applicants and employers will be Sunday at noon.

Many employers return to the AAEA Annual Meeting Employment Center year after year. Why? There is no more cost-effective way to interview a group of highly qualified candidates in the agricultural and applied economics field: students and new professionals who can immediately put their knowledge to work on behalf of the employer. At the same time, the AAEA Employment Center has a great reputation for helping job candidates in the agricultural and applied economics field find what they are looking for!

Recruitment Fair

Are you interested in recruiting undergraduate students for your business or department? Each year, the AAEA Annual Meeting attracts over 100 cream-of-the-crop undergraduate students who come to compete in the undergraduate Academic Bowl competition. These students are trained to apply economics principles to real world problems. Employers and departments are welcome to set up tables in the Academic Bowl area and talk with students as they wait for their turn to compete. This event, sponsored by the Committee on Women in Agricultural Economics (CWAE), will be held on Monday, July 25 from 9 am to 3 pm. The cost is $75 for academic employers and $125 for non-academic employers. Click the link below for a registration form and more information.
